The Promise I Cling To

I've said over and over relentlessly in these past several blog entries that I'm struggling to face the pain and poverty down here daily in Monterrey, Mexico. But as I was reading through Proverbs the other day I came across this verse in Proverbs 23:

"Do not enroach the fields of the fatherless, for THEIR DEFENDER IS STRONG." 23:10-11

Their defender is STRONG.

Their defender is STRONG.

He has not forgotten them. These fatherless children have a very sacred place in our King's heart.

This part "their defender is strong" has been written on my foot for several days now just to remind me in my moments that "the story isn't over yet" and God will defend their case and lift them up. He promises to be their father.

Dios promete ser su padre.

Cassie, I'm just now catching up on all your blog posts and have loved reading each of them... sounds like this summer is marking you for life, which is so neat to see. You are a remarkable young woman and I have been challenged by the words you share. Your pictures make me miss Mexico so much! Praying for you daily here. Praying God will protect you, mold you, and forever change you this summer.
